The original Valley of the Sun School Auxiliary Thrift Store opened in 1972, and closed its doors recently after 35 years. The store, located in downtown Phoenix, was operated by the Valley of the Sun School Auxiliary, a volunteer group founded in 1962 to support VALLEY in its fundraising efforts.Founded in 1962, this group was conceived to support the school in its fund raising efforts. Since 1972, the auxiliary has operated and managed a thrift store with proceeds going to Valley of the Sun School.
