Using Vocational Services is a win-win situation for all involved. People with disabilities are provided with gainful employment and the chance to prove their skills in the community. The employers who hire them get fully trained eager employees. Valley’s Vocational Training Program provides education and on-going support for the trainees as well as information and training for employers regarding hiring people with disabilities.
Valley prides itself on offering many different types of job training to suit the interests and abilities of our clients. We provide highly supervised job training opportunities at our on-campus Production Center. Here clients learn job skills while doing assembly and packaging for companies such as APS, and Sound Packaging. Vocational Services also provides enclaves. These are groups of 6 or more people who work with the supervision of a job coach for the entire duration of the job. Job coaches are provided at no cost to the employer. Enclave locations currently include The Arizona Lottery, Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen, Pappadeaux Restaurant, as well as our two Thrift Stores. In addition, many clients are successfully placed in independent jobs in the community.
